WHEN...MARCH 16 - 22, 2025
The Quiltworx Affair will actually begin on the morning of Monday March 17, 2025 and will commence on Friday evening, March 21, 2025 - but we recommend you arrive and check in to your lodging on Sunday March 16, 2025 (at the latest), and stay the last night of the retreat. Check in at the lodge is 4:00 pm and checkout at 11:00am . We will be allowed into the event center early on Monday morning, March 17, 2025. However, for all who are interested, we will have a meet & greet at a local restaurant on the evening of March 16 - pricing TBD.
WHERE...The Wine Country Inn, Palisade Colorado
Located in the heart of Colorado's wine country on the west-edge of the Rockies, and sitting amidst 21 acres of vineyards, the Wine Country Inn offers guests a beautiful quilting experience. The beauty and ambiance will leave a lasting impression on your heart, for sure. And, if you are so inclined, there are also lots of wine-tasting opportunities. This is a wonderful destination, and it often sells out. Blocked rooms for the Quiltworx Affair are limited, so please don't wait to register. Note - The Wine Country Inn is a Smoke-Free property.
LODGING...AT THE WINE COUNTRY INN, PALISADE, COLORADO
You will need to make your own lodging reservations at The Wine Country Inn. The Inn has blocked rooms for us at a rate of $135 per Room per night, plus applicable taxes, for either a King room (sleeps 2) or two Queen beds in a room. The King room can sleep 3 people, and the Queen Rooms can sleep up to 4 people. This gives you flexibility to perhaps come early for a day or two, bring a friend who does not quilt (ie a husband), or come together with up to 4 of you per room (to save on costs as this works out to as little as $42.20 per person per night - and that includes taxes). We recommend that you arrive on Sunday 3/16 at the latest, and depart on Saturday, March 22, 2025. You may also choose to lodge elsewhere - please know that if you do this, that breakfast will be your responsibility, but all of the other things that are included for those staying at The Inn will also apply to you.
QUILTING... This retreat includes a Wall-Size Quilt Kit AND Pattern for a specifically design quilt for the retreat using the Stella Mixers - you will be given several colorway options as we want everyone to be delighted with their quilt. You will also have the option to enlarge your quilt to a Queen Quilt if desired, add optional backing, and, if you just want to sew, sew, sew, we also have a Retreat Kit Cutting Service! If you elect to cut your own quilt, you will receive your fabrics about 2 months prior to the retreat so that you can come prepared, with your kit all cut and ready to go. If you are new to Judy Niemeyer's paper-piecing and fabric cutting techniques, no problem - just let us know. We will give you a little extra 'homework' that you can do before you receive your fabrics so that you will get some familiarity and confidence.
ADDITIONAL AMENITIES.. There is a jacuzzi at The Inn -- it will be a nice way to end the day, so bring your swim suit. There is also a Gift Shop, Fitness Center, Free WiFi, and a Laundry Center.

SEWING MACHINES... We do not have machines to rent. Please be sure to get your machine serviced before the retreat ... and don't forget to bring all of the parts!
GETTING THERE... The closest
airport is the Grand Junction Regional airport - 12 miles from The Wine Country Inn. At the time of the write-up, there are car rental services and Uber available from the airport.
FRESH AIR... Everyone can view the spectacular mountains on the edge of the Rockies, maybe even catch a glimpse of the wild life, breathe in the freshest air and enjoy the spectacular blue skies and relaxing way of life here in Colorado while you stitch! You will find time early in the morning to take a refreshing walk. For those of you who really want to get a taste of Colorado, we recommend arriving or departing a day or two after the retreat. Again, you are responsible for your lodging, and we will provide you the informaiton of The Wine Country Inn
WHAT ABOUT THE WEATHER?... One thing that is true through Colorado is that if you don't like the weather, just
wait 5 minutes because it will change. We recommend casual
clothes, comfy shoes, and a light sweater for indoors, and warm clothes, boots, and gloves for anytime you are outside. The average temperatures in Palisade for March is in the mid-50s. This event is also in March, so there is a chance that we could have a snow storm. We will be arriving a day early on Saturday 3/16 (just in case), and so that is something you may want to consider as well.

WHAT THIS COST DOES NOT INCLUDE:
~ Lodging - The Inn has reserved a block of rooms for us at special pricing, and everyoen is responsible for their own room charge.
The Room rate is currently $135 per room per night (this could increase, so we recommend you make your reservations asap).
We will provide you with the Group Rate information once you have registered for the retreat. Tell them QUILT when you reserve.
Note: Breakfast is included with your room-rate at The Wine Country Inn.

PAYMENT PLAN: We have two options for payment. The initial $200 non-refundable deposit, and then either All at One Time or 3 installments. If you select installments, the remaining payments will be divided equally and charged as follows:
33 1/3% on April 30, 2024
33 1/3 % on June 30, 2024
33 1/3% on August 31, 2024
For those who sign up between April 30 & June 29, you will pay the $200 nonrefundable fee and 33 1/3% of the amount (and Payment #2 on June 30)
For those who sign up between July 1 & August 30, you will pay the the $200 nonrefundable fee and 66 2/35 of the amount (and the final amount on August 31).
This is a 5 day, 6-night all-inclusive event, and there are no modifications to the schedule allowable.
CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS: Please note the following refund schedule should you need to cancel. ~ The initial reservation deposit of $200 is nonrefundable.
~ Cancellations prior to the final payment on August 31, 2024 receive a 50% refund plus the quilt kit/pattern shipped
~ Cancellations between September 1 & December 1 - receive a 25% refund plus the quilt/pattern shipped
~ Cancellations after December 2 - no refunds, but quilt kit & pattern will be shipped.
**If you prefer and want to find a replacement for your spot, the one who replaces you may only have the colorway option as originally selected.
INCLEMENT WEATHER OR CATESTROPHIC EVENT:
Should there be inclement weather or any other catestrophic event (such as we saw with COVID), that forces The Inn to close its doors, we can ONLY offer to re-schedule the event - no refunds shall be given. Please do not assume that the Inn is not operating if you are experiencing weather in your neck of the woods. We suggest that if you want to trick Mother Nature a little bit, to arrive a day or two early, so that you don't miss out on anything.
HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT: Homespun Hearth, Inc, and any persons associated with Homespun Hearth, Inc. are not responsible for any costs or results assocaiated with any possible medical treatment you may require while attending the Quilting on the Edge of the Rockies Retreat. Under no circumstances will Homespun Hearth, Inc. be liable for the quality of any medical care you might receive while attending the Retreat, nor for any outcome, nor for any injuries sustained. By registering for this Quilting on the Edge of the Rockies Retreat, you agree to hold Homespun Hearth, Inc harmless against injury, damages, or losses that might incur during the retreat.
